I took this photo of Eric in February when I went to see him. The Poem is one he wrote for a school project in 2006

and is copyrighted by him and may NOT be used for any reason without written permission.

My Childhood
I’ve seen the signs of my fall from afar.
I’ve watched as my innocence slipped away,
My shadow is gone,
The lost boys have been found,
The hook in my soul has been consumed by the tick-tock of time,
I’m scared.
In past days I could fly but now I feel the pull to stand down.
My magic has left me.
I’m alone and sad,
My fairy turned it’s back on me.
The green of my childhood has been exchanged for suits of experience… no use.
And today I notice and miss it,
So I look to the star of that star of that far distant land,
And realize that I’ll Never, NEVER have it back.
